Since the publication of the first edition of Gynaecological Oncology for the MRCOG and Beyond, a multidisciplinary and patient-centred approach to care, delivered in linked local or specialist centres, has been established in the UK. The training of obstetricians and gynaecologists has also changed, with the introduction of advanced training and study modules (ATSM) in the senior years of training. ATSMs in gynaecological oncology and colposcopy can now be undertaken in many centres. This book will be useful both to those preparing for MRCOG Part 2 and to those undertaking the ATSM in Gynaecological Oncology.

Recognising these developments in care, the second edition includes chapters which focus on the multidisciplinary approach. Chapters such as those on pathology, radiology, chemotherapy and radiotherapy will increase the understanding of the disciplines that are central to multidisciplinary teams. Chapters on laparoscopic surgery, basic surgical principles, palliative care and emergencies and treatment related complications in gynaecological oncology provide additional up-to-date information. The chapters on epidemiology, pathology and each of the main gynaecological cancers have all been updated for this edition and present the latest evidence on investigation, staging and management.

This book will be a valuable resource for those involved in the care of women with gynaecological cancer.
