 Overview

We have invited leading practitioners in this field to give up-to-date lectures in key areas and in addition, there are case discussions to demonstrate the use of ultrasound in solving diagnostic problems in real clinical situations. Video sessions provide examples of many common gynaecological conditions. They also give an opportunity to see rare conditions, which may present diagnostic challenge in routine clinical practice. Ultrasound imaging is invaluable in gynaecological practice and this course has much to offer to all practitioners with an interest in ultrasound including consultant gynaecologists, radiologists and sonographers.

This course represents a theoretical component of the “Ultrasound in Gynaecology” and “Ultrasound of Early Pregnancy Complications” training modules, which are aimed at trainees who wish to further develop their gynaecological ultrasound skills, either selectively or prior to undertaking Advanced Training Study Modules. This course is recognised for the theoretical component of the ‘Acute Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy’ Advanced Training Skills Module (ATSM). This course is valid for three years, and must be completed prior to completion of the practical component of the ATSMs. Elements of this course may also be suitable for the ‘Subfertility and Reproductive Endocrinology’ and the ‘Subfertility and Reproductive Health’ (January 2011 syllabus) ATSMs. This course is valid for three years, and must be completed prior to completion of the practical component of the modules.
