Overview
This meeting covers a range of theoretical and practical demonstrations of both diagnostic and operative hysteroscopic surgery. Topics include current and future developments in hysteroscopic procedures, new energy forms and innovative ambulatory surgery. There will be ample time for discussion, debate and networking through the course of the meeting.
The meeting is open to all those wanting to be updated in existing and evolving areas of hysteroscopic surgery.
This meeting is recognised for the theoretical component of the ‘Benign Gynaecological Surgery: Hysteroscopy’ (pre 2011 syllabus) and ‘Benign Abdominal Surgery: open and laparoscopic’ (January 2011 Syllabus) Advanced Training Skills Module (ATSM). This course is valid for three years, and must be completed prior to completion of the practical component of the ATSMs. Please note, delegates must attend lectures AND one of the hand-on workshop sessions for ATSM purposes.
Format of the course
This is a new format incorporating lectures and a hands-on workshop.
Each workshop consists of:
• 90 minute heart-model session for the development of endometrial ablation and resection skills using electrosurgical tools.
• A choice of three stations, each of 30 minutes duration (These will include models and computer-simulated procedures covering hysteroscopic sterilisation, endometrial polypectomy, submucosal fibroid resection and global endometrial ablation.
Delegates may participate in one hands-on skills workshop, selected from ONE of the following days:
• Monday 9.30am – 12.30pm
• Tuesday1.30pm – 5.00pm
Delegates all lectures and attend ONE workshop. Places in the workshops are limited. If you wish to attend lectures AND workshops early booking is advised. Delegates can attend the lectures only.

• Claim a maximum of 13 CPD credits for full attendance (1 hands-on session and all lectures) at this meeting

• Consultants wishing to enhance their skills in hysteroscopy

• Those who are registered, or who plan to register, for the ‘Benign Abdominal Surgery: open and laparoscopic’ (January 2011 Syllabus) ATSM
• Hysteroscopist Nurses and GPs with a special interest in hysteroscopy
• Staff Grade and Staff Doctors, Trust Doctors and Associate Specialists
