This program is an advanced level course which builds on the previous basic to intermediate course (2009) - delegates will be given an access password for online viewing of this course in January 2010. At the end of the 2010 advanced course, participants are expected to:
- Know the principles of fetal neurosonography and understand the potential and limitations of the technique
- Recognise and differentiate complex anomalies of the central nervous system, lungs, heart and kidneys and understand their clinical implications
- Recognise fetal anomalies that are amenable to diagnosis at the 11-13 weeks' scan
- Know the types of fetal malformations that are most frequently found in fetuses with increased nuchal translucency and a normal karyotype
- Differentiate true malformations from common anatomic variants that mimic anomalies
- Know the state of the art of fetal surgery for thoracic and cardiac malformations
