Overview

 This is a two-day theory course that covers the essential aspects of intermediate laparoscopic and open surgery.

It is recognised for the ‘Benign Gynaecological Surgery: Laparoscopy’ (pre 2011 syllabus) and ‘Benign Abdominal Surgery: open and laparoscopic’ (January 2011 Syllabus) Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSMs). This course is valid for three years, and must be completed prior to completion of the practical component of the ATSMs.

Please note: The theory underpinning hysteroscopic surgery will be covered by the ‘Diagnostic and Operative Hysteroscopy’ meeting.

• This meeting is suitable for the theoretical component of the ‘Benign Gynaecological Surgery: Laparoscopy’ (pre 2011 syllabus) ATSM and ‘Benign Abdominal Surgery: open and laparoscopic’ (January 2011 Syllabus) ATSM
• Clinicians will be able to gain an understanding of the principles behind laparoscopic surgical techniques in benign gynaecology
• Claim a maximum of 14 CPD credits for full attendance at this meeting
