About Nottingham
Nottingham is a vibrant city with numerous attractions. As well as the shopping, restaurants and nightlife there are historic sites such as the world famous Nottingham Castle and the award winning Galleries of Justice. If you are more interested in the arts then Nottingham is home to the Nottingham Contemporary, one of the largest contemporary arts galleries in the UK as well as the Djanogly Gallery within the Lakeside Arts Centre. For cinema lovers we offer the nationally recognised independent cinema Broadway and further down the same street the world’s smallest cinema with just 21 seats, the Screen Room.
If you prefer the outdoors then Wollaton Hall and Deer Park are particularly beautiful in winter and of course there is also the infamous Sherwood Forest. Nottingham is within easy reach of the Peak District so slightly further afield you can also find Newstead Abbey and Chatsworth House.
We believe that there is something for everyone in Nottingham and we hope that you enjoy visiting the city as a tourist as well as for SPROGs. For more information on these and all of the other attractions Nottingham has to offer please visit www.experiencenottinghamshire.com
Travelling to Nottingham
Nottingham is easily accessible by both train and car. Direct trains run from London, Leeds, Sheffield Liverpool, Norwich, Cardiff and Birmingham amongst others.
By car, Nottingham is handy not only for the M1, but the A42 to the centre of Birmingham, A50 to Stoke and the A453 to Nottingham.
East Midlands Airport is also within easy access of the city by car and public transport.
Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner will be held in the traditional splendour of Nottingham Council House, and provides yet more opportunities to meet with friends and colleagues. A drinks reception will be followed by a three course dinner accompanied by a complimentary glass of wine. The evening’s entertainment includes an appearance by Elizabeth I and will finish with a live band and dancing.
