OVERVIEW

This is a clinical update meeting aimed at all clinicians involved in the management of the subfertile couple and reproductive endocrinology. It also provides the theoretical element for those studying the advanced training skill module “subfertility and reproductive endocrinology”. As well as providing a comprehensive overview of the subject, the speakers have been chosen to provide the latest information in this rapidly developing area.

 Who Should Attend?

 This is an educational meeting aimed at SpRs, consultants and doctors working in the independent sector in the UK and abroad. It will also be suitable for nurse specialists, and elements are suitable for counsellors and GPs with a special interest in fertility issues.

 OVERVIEW

 Assisted conception continues to face rapid developments clinically and scientifically. The topics and the speakers have been carefully chosen in order to offer the most relevant and evidence-based information. This specialist course complements the joint BFS/RCOG training course on “Subfertility and Reproductive Endocrinology”.

 The course that will closely follow the guide to learning of the BFS training module on Assisted Conception will cover the followings areas:

 ·         Overview of the work-up of female and male partners

·         Management in an assisted conception unit, including the role of the regulator(s)

·         IUI and IVF techniques, laboratory aspects and clinical protocols

·         Limitations and complications of assisted reproductive technology

·         Controversial issues in ART – PGS, PGD and gametes donation

Who Should Attend?

This comprehensive 2-day theoretical course is aimed at all professionals involved in assisted conception and infertility management as well as those planning to cultivate a special interest in the field.
