Reviewing Green-top guidelines

  • Please critically appraise both the contents and presentation of the guideline. It should be balanced, unbiased and clearly structured, and must contain up-to-date information.
  • Your comments should be constructive, with supporting references where possible, and should be submitted using the comments table provided. Detailed copyediting comments including typos are not expected , as the guideline will be edited before publication.
  • For details of how Green-top Guidelines are produced please see Clinical Governance Advice 1a – 1c
  • We prefer to receive your comments electronically using the comments table provided; these should be submitted to Abid Shah, Clinical Governance and Standards Department, ashah@rcog.org.uk
  • Please disclose any conflicts of interest, although these do not preclude you from reviewing the document. Your comments will be forwarded to the guideline developers. As well as the nominated peer reviewers, comments are also invited to comment via the RCOG website.
  • Whilst the Guidelines and Audit Committee takes ultimate responsibility for the published guideline, the names of developer(s) and peer reviewers will be included in the final document.
  • Peer reviewers may claim CPD credits for this work; please find more information here.
  • Comments received after the deadline will not be considered, unless notified and agreed in advance.

Please note that recommendations presented are provisional and do not constitute the final guidance on the topic and may change after consultation.
