New Good Practice guide on classification of urgency of caesarean section

The College has published a Good Practice guide which it hopes will encourage the adoption and use of the Lucas classification of urgency of caesarean section. This classification uses four categories of urgency without specific time constraints. The concept that there is a continuum of risk is emphasised by addition of the colour spectrum.
