About the RCOG Bookshop

The RCOG Bookshop opened in 1993, offering a comprehensive range of books on obstetrics and gynaecology to the Fellows, Members and Trainees of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Originally outside the main College building, the shop was officially opened by Professor Geoffrey Chamberlain who was then President of the College, Professor John Studd who was Publications Officer at that time and Claire Rayner, currently President of the Patients Association.

Since then, the Bookshop has gone from strength to strength, introducing the Online Bookshop in 1997. For three years, the website offered the RCOG Press titles only, but following an ever-increasing demand we added the full, comprehensive range of books to be found within the Bookshop itself.

In 1999, the Bookshop moved into the main College building, where we are to this day. Visitors are welcome to visit the shop, which is open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Most of the books listed on this website are stocked in the RCOG Bookshop, which we believe stocks the most comprehensive range of obstetrics and gynaecology books in the UK.

There are currently three members of staff running the Bookshop:

Trudi Ferris is the Bookshop Manager and has been an integral part of the RCOG Bookshop since 1994.

Clare Willmore is the Bookshop and Customer Orders Administrator, dealing primarily with mail order.

Ollie Browne is the Bookshop Assistant and the newest member of the team, joining us in 2010.

In addition, Richard Baber, the previous Bookshop Manager, now works on a freelance basis maintaining the Online Bookshop.
