American Gynecological Club / Gynaecological Visiting Society Fellowship

The initial funding was provided in 1990 by the American Gynecological Club and the Gynaecological Visiting Society of Great Britain and Ireland. The sum awarded will be up to a maximum of £500, to meet travel costs and incidental expenses and may be awarded even though other financial assistance has been obtained.

Bernhard Baron Travelling Scholarship

This annual travelling scholarship in obstetrics and gynaecology has been endowed by a generous gift from the Bernhard Baron Charitable Trust. The scholarship, which is open to any Fellow or Member of the College, is intended to provide funds, up to a maximum of £6,000, for short-term travel to expand the applicant’s knowledge in areas in which he or she already has experience.

Eden Travelling Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

This annual travelling fellowship was generously endowed by the late Dr Thomas Watts Eden. It is open to medical graduates of not less than two years’ standing of any approved university (whether members of the College or not). Its purpose is to enable the holder to visit, for a specified period of time, another department(s) of obstetrics and gynaecology or of closely related disciplines where the applicant may gain additional knowledge and experience in the pursuit of a specific research project in which he or she is currently engaged. The sum awarded will be up to a maximum of £5,000 according to the project to be undertaken and the travelling expenses involved.

Endometriosis Millennium Fund

The organising Committee of the 7th World Congress of Endometriosis through a generous donation established the Endometriosis Millennium Fund, to be administered by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

The object of the fund is to stimulate and encourage research, clinical or laboratory based, in the field of endometriosis, or to encourage clinicians to acquire extra clinical skills to manage patients with the disease.

Green-Armytage and Spackman Travelling Scholarship

Through the generosity of the late Mr V B Green-Armytage and of the late Colonel W C Spackman, Council is able to award An annual travelling scholarship to the value of £4,000 to a Fellow or Member of the College .  Up to two awards will be given.

Overseas Fund

The Overseas Fund was established in 1988 through the generosity of a bequest by Miss Aileen Dickins FRCOG. Miss Dickins became a Member of the College in 1945 and was elevated to the Fellowship in 1958. She served on Council and many standing committees of the College, was Chairman of the Examination Committee between 1968 and 1971, and Vice President from 1978 to 1981.
