The Trainees’ Register is available for all doctors interested in pursuing a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Furthermore it is a mandatory requirement to subscribe to the Trainees’ Register for trainees appointed to a type 1 StR post. The benefits are available to all doctors pre-MRCOG Part 2.
The annual renewal of the Trainees’ Register will continue to be a mandatory requirement for StRs until the attainment of the Part 2 MRCOG when trainees will be eligible for the full benefits of Membership.
Subscription to the Trainees’ Register is not a mandatory requirement for trainees appointed to FTSTA posts but is highly recommended. However, for trainees requiring ePortfolio access, it is mandatory requirement that they subscribe to the Trainees Register.
From 1st July 2010 the annual subscription fee for UK trainees is £120.00. This increase has been necessitated by a direct cost borne by the RCOG for the ePortfolio which is part of the Trainees’ Register package of benefits. The RCOG has to pay a licence fee for the service provision and ongoing support by the ePortfolio providers, NHS Education Scotland (NES).
For overseas doctors the ePortfolio is not included in the Trainees’ Register package and therefore the fee will remain at £80.00 per annum. This is valid for a 12 month period from when we process the payment. We will email you near the end of the year to remind you that the subscription is due for renewal.
You need to be registered with this website to apply to join the Trainees’ Register.
• UK Trainees application form
• Overseas Trainees application form
Please allow 14 working days for your application to be processed and remember to keep the College informed of any changes to your contact details.
