The RCOG Bookshop is committed to protecting your personal information. Any data we collect from you is used either to process orders or to send you our email newsletter. This policy applies specifically to the RCOG Bookshop, the retail outlet of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, not to the rest of the RCOG website or to any external websites linked to from this site.

By providing us with your personal information voluntarily, you consent to the collection and use of this information by the RCOG Bookshop, in accordance with this privacy policy. What sort of data do we collect and what do we use it for?
The RCOG website requires you to register in order to complete a purchase. Information collected here, other than your email address, is not passed forward to the Bookshop. At checkout, you are required to enter billing and delivery addresses, which are retained within the Bookshop only. Credit/debit card data is collected by Sage Pay, a third party payment service provider, who process the cards and either authorise or reject the transaction. The process of collecting and processing card information occurs with the highest possible level of encryption for maximum security. For more information about Sage Pay security, click here. No credit/debit card data is stored by the RCOG Bookshop itself, but we can access it indirectly should we need to refund your order.
When you subscribe to our email newsletter we simply record your email address and name. This data is only used to send future editions of the email newsletter.
Does this website use cookies?
The RCOG Online Bookshop makes use of cookies. These are files which are sent by us to your computer which we can access when you visit our site in future. We do this for a number of reasons including administering the site's registration system and shopping cart. Cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify you or transmit personal information.

We use a secure server when you enter into a money transaction from our website. We also encrypt your credit card number at the time when you place your order.

If your personal details change, please help us to keep your information up to date by going to My Profile and updating your details.
Can you see the information we hold on you?
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we will charge a small administration fee) and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected. To submit a request, please write to the address above.
