How to order

Adding to the Shopping Cart

Browse or search for a book you would like to purchase.

  • To add a book to the cart, click on the blue 'add to cart' button. The book will be listed in the shopping cart box on the right-hand side of the page.
  • Continue browsing or searching and adding books to the cart in this manner until you have selected all of the books you wish to buy.
  • To review your order, change a quantity or delete a book from your order, click on View cart in the shopping cart block and you will be taken to a detailed shopping cart.
  • To go straight to the checkout, click on Checkout in the shopping cart block.

Shopping Cart

This is where you can amend quantities, remove a book from the cart, return to the shop or proceed to the Checkout.

  • To remove a book, click in the box to the left of the title and then click on the blue 'Update cart' button.
  • To alter the quantity of a book, change the number in the 'Qty' box and click on the 'Update cart' button.
  • To make your purchase, click on the blue 'Checkout' button to proceed to the Checkout page.
  • To continue shopping, please click on the ‘Continue shopping' button.

Guest Checkout

If you are not logged into the website, you will be presented with the Guest Checkout screen.

  • Fellows, Members and Trainees of the RCOG are requested to log in at this stage.
  • Non-members have the choice of logging in, if they are already registered, registering or making an anonymous purchase, ie without registering on the site.

Checkout

This page lists the books you have selected and the total cost.

  • Please fill in the billing and delivery address details.
  • Click on the ‘Click to calculate delivery charge' button to calculate the delivery charge.
  • If you have been given a promotional code, please enter this in the ‘Promotional code' box.
  • Please then fill in your payment details.
  • If you wish to leave a message or instruction, please enter this in the ‘Order comments' box.
  • Finally, click on ‘Proceed to order confirmation page' button at the bottom of the page.

Confirm your order

Review the information on this page.

  • To place your order, click on the 'Place your order' button at the bottom of the page.
  • To make a change to the information, please click the ‘Back' button at the bottom of the page to return to the ‘Checkout' page.

Urgent orders

Books in stock are usually sent within 48 hours. You will be notified by email if a book is out of stock. If you need a book sent urgently, please contact the bookshop directly. Please note a surcharge may be applied.

If you need your item for a particular date then we would advise you to order in plenty of time (about 2 weeks in advance), add a note to your order or contact us directly - we will be pleased to help.

Payment Options

Payment is accepted by Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Eurocard, Solo and Electron. American Express and Diners cards are not accepted on this website.

If you are an overseas customer we would remind you this is a UK based website and all prices are in pounds sterling.

Availability

Most books on this website are held in stock in the RCOG Bookshop but books do run out of stock if demand rises unexpectedly, or a supplier runs out of stock. Books that have to be ordered in usually take no longer than a week to reach us, before we then send them on to you. Books that need to be reprinted can take from a few weeks to over a year to reprint, in which case we will post a notice on the book information page.

Managing your order

Where is my order?

You are able to check the status of your order by logging into your account. This will show you whether the item has been despatched, part-despatched or if it is on order from the publisher.

If your order was despatched and you could reasonably have expected to have received it by now,  please contact us as soon as possible.

Can I track my order?

At present it is not possible to track your order via our website. However, if your order was sent by DHL, you will receive an email notification with your parcel tracking details when the order is sent.

I have only received part of my order

This could be for one of the following reasons:

If only part of the order was available, we despatch that straight away and send the rest of the items as we receive them from the publisher. We will always notify you by email if your order is incomplete.

You are able to check the status of your order by logging into your account.
