These eLectures have been designed to provide easily accessible, stimulating lectures for trainees and healthcare professionals with an interest in abortion care. The presenters have expertise in both routine and more specialist areas of practice within the UK NHS and the lectures give an overview of the following areas:

Historical Public Health and Legal Issues (1 hour)

The Client's Perspective (20 minutes)

  • supporting the woman and her family

The eLectures are approved by both the RCOG and Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Higher Training Committee (approved from November 2009 to October 2011). The eLectures are accepted for the Faculty Certificate in Abortion Care.

Those registered on the RCOG CPD Programme may claim 1 CPD credit under reflective learning for each eLecture (you will need to complete a reflective learning form which is provided in the CPD ePortfolio).


The cost of these four eLectures is £103.13 (£82.50 for Fellows, Members and registered trainees). Once purchased, you will be able to access the eLectures online for two years. If the eLectures are updated in this time period then you will automatically be give access to the most recent version.
