Introduction to early pregnancy loss - breaking bad news

Breaking bad news is an integral part of a doctor's role. The way in which it is done has lasting effects on the recipient. Doing it badly makes a difficult situation worse; doing it well can not make the situation better, but it avoids the recipient being left with additional painful memories.

Breaking bad news is never easy, but it is a skill that can be developed.
