Infectious diseases acquired during pregnancy can have a serious impact on both the woman and the fetus.

This tutorial looks at the aetiology, diagnosis, implications and management of some common bacterial, viral and parasitical infections.

  • understand the implications in pregnancy and for the newborn
  • manage the disease appropriately
