Neurological conditions can pre-date or occur for the first time in pregnancy. Whilst epilepsy is not uncommon, many neurological conditions are relatively rare and most obstetricians will have limited experience in this area. Furthermore, there are few randomised clinical trials to guide evidence-based practice in this area.
