Antiviral medicines: What you need to know

Swine Flu in Pregnancy Seminar for Healthcare Providers

The lecture, Antiviral Medicines: What you need to know, is presented by Dr Barbara Bannister.

This is the second of two lectures for healthcare providers captured in October 2009.

Overview

As the controversy surrounding the swine flu pandemic escalated in news headlines across the globe, it became increasingly important that those in the medical profession provide a clear and consistent message to their patients.

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, along with keynote speakers from the Department of Health, arranged a free-to-attend meeting, available to all healthcare providers, offering an update in the various issues facing pregnant women at this time.

Professor Lindsay Davies - National Director of Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Sir Liam Donaldson – Chief Medical Officer, opened the meeting with an overview on pandemic flu, allowing various other experts to update on more specific aspects of current strategy in the UK.
