RCOG Member scoops top awards

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) is delighted to congratulate Mr Tim Draycott MRCOG, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, for being named “Doctor of the Year” at the Hospital Doctor Awards 2007 last night. Mr Draycott and his team also won the award for “Best Obstetrics and Gynaecology Team in the UK”.

Mr Draycott’s unit, which attends to more than 5000 births per year, was pitted against 12 top teams from around the country to scoop the award. Professor Jim Dornan, Immediate-Past Vice President of the RCOG and judge of the obstetrics and gynaecology category of the competition, said “Tim Draycott’s team was chosen because of its multidisciplinary nature, proven clinical benefits from improved training and the important fact that it makes learning fun - an absolute winning formula.”
