Submitting a manuscript

What to send

All manuscripts should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word. If you are unable to submit in this format, please contact us before submitting: publications@rcog.org.uk

Electronic copy

Start with a title page, which should include the book's full title, the author(s)/editor(s) title(s), name(s), position(s), qualifications, full postal address(es) and email addresses.

Start a new file for each chapter. Name each file logically, e.g. Chapter 01, Chapter 02 … Chapter 10, etc.

Within each file, arrange your material in this order:

  • text
  • references (please do not use automatic numbering for your references. This causes confusion because our editing program cannot recognise automatic numbering)
  • tables with captions (all tables should be laid out as MS Word tables; see Preparing tables)
  • figure captions
  • figures should be supplied separately (see Preparing Figures)

Remember to retain an electronic copy of the manuscript for your own records.
