RCOG Consumers' Forum

The College has an active Consumers' Forum through which it maintains links with patients and their concerns. The College thus ensures that the views of patients are taken into account in the development of its activities. More details about the Consumers' Forum remit and membership can be found in the committee pages.

We need you

The Forum is an active group promoting participation in the work of the College and highlighting consumer concerns and needs.

The College is the UK professional body responsible for the encouragement of the study and the advancement of the science and practice of obstetrics and gynaecology, including all aspects of women’s reproductive health.

The Forum meets four times a year. It has three medical members and up to twelve non-medical members. It advises the College on patients’ concerns and is represented on several Committees including Council, the governing body of the College. It is involved in standard setting, an important feature that will be developed further. The Forum has been involved in initiatives associated with training activities, particularly communication skills and the development of patient information on the College’s website.

Previous committee experience is desirable. The College will pay travel and subsistence costs incurred as a result of attending meetings.
