TEF 2021 update from President and Vice President for Education

Thursday 28 January 2021

Dear colleagues,

We are writing to inform you that the College has taken the decision to postpone the upcoming Training Evaluation Form survey (TEF), which was due to run in February 2021. Based on the current clinical pressures, and following consultation with the Training Evaluation Committee and National Trainees Committee, we feel this is the most sensible course of action.

Trainee feedback is vital, both when things are working well and when they could be better, and your experiences help to shape O&G training for current and future trainees. As such, rather than completely cancel TEF in 2021, we have chosen to delay the survey to later in the year. We hope by then the position will have improved and you will have opportunity to provide direct feedback on the training you have received this year, along with your working environment.

The TEF will now be live in summer 2021, with the survey open on Tuesday 22 June 2021 and closing on Tuesday 20 July 2021.

Importantly, the completion of TEF this year will not be a mandatory requirement for ARCP and this will be reflected in the RCOG training matrix of progression.

Our aims of TEF continue to be to enhance the educational experience of trainees, to drive up the quality of training environments and ultimately improve patient safety and experience. We hope that you will engage with this important work later in the year.

If you have any questions about the upcoming TEF survey please contact the Education team at .

We hope that you keep safe and well.

With best wishes,

Mr Edward Morris, President
Miss Sue Ward, Vice President for Education
