RCOG Heritage Collections Blog
The College holds material from both the RCOG and the Royal College of Midwives (RCM). The collection includes information on all aspects of clinical obstetrics, gynaecology and midwifery, as well as education, the history of the two Colleges and the development of women's health.
Visit the RCOG Heritage Blog for biographies of the College’s historic members, unpublished RCOG and RCM records, early photographs, and donated personal papers relating to the specialty.
Take a guided tour of Sussex Place to learn more about the foundation of the College, and let the heritage team lead you on a journey through 500 years of obstetrics, gynaecology and midwifery.
Visitors will be able to view treasures from the collections including the famous 16th century ‘Chamberlen forceps’ and some of the earliest printed books on midwifery.
