We are now seeking reviewers to assist us with the abstract review process for the RCOG World Congress 2021, our virtual conference taking place on 9-12 June 2021.
We would be extremely grateful if you could assist us with this process. Please see below the requirements for abstract reviewers. If you would like to be considered for the reviewer role please register your details and select the categories you would like to review using this link: https://events.rapiergroup.com/rcog-world-congress-2021/abstractreviewerreg
What qualifications do you need to be accepted as an abstract reviewer?
We welcome applications from anyone with MRCOG or equivalent with experience of presenting at a regional conference level or above. In particular, we would welcome reviewers with special interest in the specified categories available for abstracts submission.
What is required of you?
Abstract reviewers need to be available to judge abstracts between 17 February and 3 March 2021.
We hope to build a pool of reviewers sufficient in number to ensure that, wherever possible, the approx. number of abstracts to be reviewed will be 50 per reviewer. We will aim for each abstract to be reviewed a minimum of twice, ideally three times.
The allocation of abstracts will be based on the areas of interest which you specify when you register with the online reviewing site.
We will provide you with a website link and password on or before Friday 12 February 2021. The link will give you access to the online review site, where you will be able to view and grade the abstracts which have been allocated to you.Clear instruction will be given to you closer to the date when reviewing commences.
We will require grading to be completed by midnight on Wednesday 3 March 2021.
How will reviewers benefit?
In addition to playing a key role in the planning of the Congress 2021 programme, we are pleased to confirm the following entitlements for abstract reviewers:
- 10% reduction in registration fee to attend the Congress (10% off the early bird full Consultant registration fee)
- CPD. The editing or reviewing of publications, including reviewing of abstracts, is claimable at the following rate:
For those following the old CPD Programme and CPD ePortfolio
The editing or reviewing of publications, including reviewing of abstracts, is claimable at the rate of 1 CPD credit per hour to a maximum of 25 CPD credits in each 5-year CPD cycle.
For those following the new CPD Framework and new CPD ePortfolio
The editing or reviewing of publications, including reviewing of abstracts, is claimable as an Experiential Learning Event. Reflection is required to claim for an Experiential Learning Event. 2 credits are claimable following reflection. In addition, 1 or 2 credits are claimable for an action following the learning (1 credit for a simple action, 2 credits for a complex action). To claim credits for an action, the individual needs to demonstrate how they have applied their learning to their practice, the service they provide and/or the potential impact of the learning.
For those not registered on the RCOG CPD Programme
You need to confirm with the institute which manages your CPD programme how to claim CPD credits for reviewing abstracts.
