eLearning Editorial Board

Committee remit, membership and meeting dates

Editor in Chief

We are seeking applicants for the Editor in Chief for the eLearning Editorial Board (Gynaecology).

The Editor in Chief (Gynaecology) will oversee all gynaecology modules in addition to the normal duties of an Editorial Board member, e.g. oversee updates / peer reviews / production of assessment questions for a Core Knowledge module (approx. 10 tutorials). They will be assisted in their work in the Core Knowledge module by a Trainee member of the Board.

The successful candidate needs to have understanding of the purpose and principles of the eLearning Core Knowledge eTutorials, knowledge of the structure and content of the old and new (2019) Core Curriculum, knowledge of the Part 2 MRCOG, especially the types of exam questions and their format.

Consultant Member of the Core Knowledge eLearning Editorial Board

(Subfertility & Sexual and Reproductive Health)

The Editorial Board for eLearning Core Knowledge is responsible for the content and quality assurance of the 97 Core eTutorials. The role of the eLearning Editorial Board member is to be responsible for the content of eLearning Core Knowledge tutorials and anAdvisory role in the development of eLearning

Trainee Member of the Core Knowledge eLearning Editorial Board

(Surgical Procedures and Postoperative Care; Urognaecology and Pelvic Floor Problems; and Subfertility & Sexual and Reproductive Health)

The Editorial Board for eLearning Core Knowledge is responsible for the content and quality assurance of the 97 Core eTutorials. The role of the trainee eLearning Editorial Board member is to assist the consultant Editorial Board Member in obstetrics or gynaecology, in their role overseeing the update and review of the Core Knowledge eTutorials and an advisory role in the development of eLearning.

Subspecialty Committee

Committee remit, membership and meeting dates

Vice Chair

The Vice Chair supports the Chair and deputises when necessary to ensure that the Committee carries out its responsibilities for the regular and systematic review of the subspecialty curricula, the approval process of programme approval against centre criteria and review the information from trainee assessments and feedback and final confirmation of completion of subspecialty training.

Member – RCOG Urogynaecology Representative

The Subspecialty Committee is responsible for the development of subspecialisation in the four subspecialties (Gynaecological Oncology, Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine and Urogynaecology). This includes monitoring the criteria and procedures for approval of subspecialty trainees, training centres and training programmes and for subspecialist accreditation on completion of training.

Educational Supervision Champion

The Educational Supervision Champion coordinates the development of the Educational Supervisor (ES) role within the context of the new core, advanced and subspecialty curricula. They will be working with the Vice President (Education), SEAC, the Education Quality Assurance Committee, and the Curriculum Committee.

Education Resources Adviser

The Education Resources Adviser has overall clinical responsibility for the development and coordination of high-quality education resources for both pre- and post-CCT training and clinical quality in line with the College’s strategic and operational objectives.

Clinical Lead – Case Studies for CPD eLearning Resource

The Clinical Lead will work with the eLearning team to recruit and appoint authors to write and peer-review original content for the case studies and assist with longer term updates of the case studies. Regular updates of the case studies are essential to keep the content up-to-date and relevant.
