Medical Training Initiative (MTI) Officer

We are recruiting for the post of Medical Training Initiative (MTI) Officer.

The appointment term is 3 years, reviewed on an annual basis, and commences in October 2020. The successful candidate will be selected by an interview panel and interviews will be held on Thursday 24th September.

The Medical Training Initiative (MTI) is a national scheme run by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC), Health Education England (HEE) and Royal Colleges. The MTI scheme allows International Medical Graduates (IMGs) from developing countries to come to the UK for a maximum of two years to train within the National Health Service (NHS) and gain knowledge and experience.

The MTI Officer for the RCOG is an honorary post with the main purpose to oversee and facilitate the functioning of the scheme while assuring its high standard and quality of services provided.

You will provide support for the RCOG MTI Lead who administers the scheme and for international MTI doctors and Trusts around UK, mainly through email/phone advice and attending to outstanding issues and queries.

You will be required to make executive and independent decisions on a case-by-case basis, especially on subjects regarding O&G training, working in the NHS and communication.

You will be involved in organising MTI related events such as the MTI Assessment Panel held once a year, the MTI Induction event and the MTI annual meeting.
