Subspecialty Committee

Chair

As Chair of the Subspecialty Committee you will be responsible for representing the views of trainees and subspecialty training programme supervisors in a proactive way to Council and other College Committees in order to develop and protect subspecialty training. In particular you would seek to clarify and improve the major issues facing subspecialty training.

This is a Tier 4 position on the College’s Faculty Development Framework.

 

Core Curriculum Committee

Vice-Chair

As Vice-Chair of the Core Curriculum Committee, you will be responsible for supporting the Chair, deputising as necessary and taking on dedicated pieces of work when the need arises. You will also represent the committee on the Educational Quality Assurance Committee.

This is a Tier 4 position on the College’s Faculty Development Framework.

 

Advanced Training Committee

Vice-Chair

As Vice-Chair of the Advanced Training Committee, you will be responsible for ensuring the Committee carries out its responsibility for content and development of the ATSMs which fulfil the needs of pre-CCT and post-CCT doctors, including overseas doctors.

This is a Tier 4 position on the College’s Faculty Development Framework.

 

Equivalence Advisory Group

Member / Fellow Representative (4 vacancies)

2x roles commencing February 2018
2x roles commencing May 2018

As a Member / Fellow representative on the Equivalence Advisory Group, you will contribute to the assessment of CESR applications against the current core curriculum in O&G.

 

Professional Development Committee

Member / Fellow Representative (2 vacancies)

As a Member / Fellow representative on the Professional Development Committee, you will be responsible for developing and updating CPD guidance as determined by the Education Board and collaborating with other organisations to endorse this guidance. You will also be responsible for overseeing the management of the existing CPD Programme in parallel to the development and introduction of the new CPD Programme for UK and overseas Fellows and Members.

This is a Tier 4 position on the College’s Faculty Development Framework.

 

Professional Development Committee

Academic Representative

As Academic Representative, you will provide an expert view from an academic perspective, to enable the Chair of the Professional Development Committee to respond to all enquiries, consultations and correspondence from College Officers, Fellows and Members, and outside bodies, as and when they arise. You will also work with the Chair and other Committee members to implement the new RCOG CPD Programme and ePortfolio, based on the ‘Becoming Tomorrow’s Specialist’ report.

 

Academic Board

Postgraduate Lead

As Postgraduate Lead, you will be responsible for maintaining the communication network with academic leads and academic trainees in each school for O&G across the UK and establishing processes for identifying new academic trainees. You will also undertake surveys of academic trainees and senior academic posts to identify funding sources, career aspirations and future academic workforce needs.

 

StratOG Core Training

Editor-in-Chief (Obstetrics)

As Chair of the StratOG Editorial Board you will oversee all obstetric modules in addition to the normal duties of an Editorial Board member, e.g. oversee updates/peer reviews/production of assessment questions for a Core Training module (approx. 10 tutorials).

StratOG Editorial Board

Member / Fellow Representative (6 vacancies)

As a Member / Fellow representative on the StratOG Editorial Board you will be responsible for the content of StratOG Core Training eTutorials and will also have an advisory role in the development of StratOG.

StratOG Editorial Board

Trainee Representative (9 vacancies)

As a Trainee representative on the StratOG Editorial Board, you will be responsible for assisting a consultant Editorial Board Member in obstetrics or gynaecology in their role overseeing the update and review of the Core Training eTutorials. You will also have an advisory role in the development of StratOG.

Specialty Education Advisory Committee

LTFT Adviser

As LTFT Adviser, you will liaise with the Chair of SEAC and Committee members to ensure that they are informed on issues relating to Less than Full Time Training (LTFT) and to be a point of contact (via the Secretary) for deaneries/Local Education and Training Boards (LETBs), trainees and the GMC.

 

Subspecialty Committee

Reproductive Medicine Representative

As the Reproductive Medicine Representative on the Subspecialty Committee, you will bring a specific expertise and insight from the relevant subspecialty field and will provide the link between the Subspecialty Committee and the relevant Specialist Society, keeping both up to date with developments related to training.

Maternal & Fetal Medicine Representative

As the Maternal & Fetal Medicine Representative on the Subspecialty Committee, you will bring a specific expertise and insight from the relevant subspecialty field and will provide the link between the Subspecialty Committee and the relevant Specialist Society, keeping both up to date with developments related to training.
