We are currently seeking to recruit to the post of Chair of the RCOG Research Committee.
The appointment term is 3 years, reviewed on an annual basis and commences in September 2020. The successful candidate will be selected by an interview panel and interviews will be held on Friday 4 September.
The RCOG plays an active role in research within the obstetrics and gynaecology discipline and as such the RCOG Research Committee promotes and coordinates the RCOG's research activities.
The central objective of the RCOG Research Committee is to facilitate the evaluation of interventions to improve reproductive health outcomes for women, their children and their families. In addition, the Committee aims to:
- Improve the coordination of research
- Maintain and enhance the quality of research
- Improve the integration of research
- Widen participation in research
Under the leadership of the RCOG Research Committee Chair, the members of the Committee, chair the 11 Clinical Study Groups (CSGs), which facilitate the process of developing and expanding the portfolio of research in reproductive health care in the UK.
The CSGs provide the primary route through which new ideas for clinical trials and other well designed studies are developed in the reproductive health field. The Research Committee reports directly to the RCOG Academic Board.
