Stillbirth Clinical Study Group – Member

We are recruiting new members to the Stillbirth CSG, and looking for people with a range of expertise to help shape the research agenda in this area.

The Stillbirth CSG meets approximately every 6 months to:

  • Identify priorities for research into stillbirth
  • Propose and develop well designed studies including trials
  • Consider studies proposed by members of the group and others
  • Provide specific advice to investigators
  • Ensure stakeholder involvement


The Stillbirth CSG is closely supported by Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. This active collaboration, along with the enthusiasm and wide expertise of members, makes the group an exciting and productive forum that is strongly committed to reducing baby deaths.


CSG Committee members should have a track record of participation in research. The intention is to develop a portfolio that is well balanced and draws on existing strengths. Members should therefore be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of collaborative clinical trials activity in a leadership capacity
  • Evidence of publications and/or presentations nationally/internationally
  • An enthusiasm and commitment to developing research
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to declare conflicts of interest
  • In good standing with the GMC and the RCOG


We are particularly looking for members with expertise in one or more of the following domains:

  • Social Sciences
  • Health economics
  • Epidemiology
  • Statistics
  • Clinical Trials
  • Genetics /Genomics
  • Clinical audit/confidential enquiries
  • Trainee member
