Kate Lancaster was appointed CEO of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists on 1 March 2019.
Kate is a highly experienced healthcare leader. Her career to date spans large and complex healthcare organisations and systems, including Board Director roles on a Health Board in Scotland UK, a national specialist Trust in England, a large ‘Shelford Group’ Teaching Hospital and a large NHS General Hospital.
In addition to her NHS experience Kate has international and academic experience through her roles at Cambridge University Hospitals, The Eastern Academic Health Science Network, and Cambridge University Health Partners - one of the UK’s leading Academic Health Science Centres. Kate also acts as a professional advisor to HM Government’s Cabinet Office.
Kate is passionate about working to improve women’s health care across the world. As CEO of the RCOG she is committed to working with partners to improve standards and practice for the healthcare offered to women and girls worldwide.
