The National Guideline Alliance (NGA) was launched by the RCOG on 1 April 2016, as a new function within the Education and Quality Directorate.

With over 50 members in the team, the NGA has a diverse skill mix of staff with expertise in systematic reviewing, health economics, information science, project management and end to end guideline development.

The NGA delivers a commission awarded by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to the RCOG, to produce evidence-based guidelines for health and social care in England and Wales on cancer, mental health, social care, women's and children's health.

As well as working on behalf of NICE, the NGA undertakes commissions from a variety of organisations to deliver a wide range of services.
