Deadline for submitting expense claims

We are approaching the end of the financial year and require all Guideline Committee expenses incurred during 2016/17 to be processed before year end. All Guideline Committee members have been communicated with weekly regarding these deadlines.

In order to ensure that claim payments are made promptly and accurately, Guideline Committee members are to return claim forms and receipts to as soon as possible in line with the periods below. Due to the year end we are required to tighten our submission windows:

  • If you had a GC meeting in February the deadline for submitting claims is 3rd March 2017
  • If you have a GC meeting within March the deadline for submitting claims is 3rd April 2017

Please do contact us in advance of the dates above via if these deadlines present an issue.

NICE mental health guideline published

We are happy to announce the publication of the following mental health NICE guideline developed by the National Guideline Alliance (NGA).

Mental health of adults in contact with the criminal justice system is available from 21 March 2017 to view and use as NG66 on the NICE website.

Fetal monitoring recommendations

We are delighted to confirm the publication of the NGA-developed NICE exceptional review of the fetal monitoring recommendations in CG190.

Recommendations in CG190 have been exceptionally reviewed and adapted in response to stakeholder feedback and implementation issues, taking account of new evidence.

NICE guideline published on assessment and management of cerebral palsy in under 25s

We are delighted to confirm the publication of the NGA developed NICE guideline in Cerebral palsy in under 25s (NG62).

NICE guideline on eating disorders: recognition and treatment

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guideline on "Eating disorders in over 8s: management" was first published in 2004 (NICE clinical guideline CG9). Following a surveillance review in 2014 a decision was made to update the guideline with a publication date set for 2017.

The NGA were commissioned by NICE to develop guidance to improve end of life care for babies, children and young people.

New guideline commission

The National Guideline Alliance (NGA) is delighted to announce that we have received our first social care guideline commission from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). The topic of Support for Adult Carers will address issues facing the estimated 7 million carers in the UK.
