  • Project Support Officer, Centre for Women’s Global Health
  • Part-time (21hrs per week), fixed term for 9 months
  • £26,135 salary pro rata
  • Excellent benefits

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Officer to join the Centre for Women’s Global Health on a part-time basis of three days per week for a fixed term contract of nine months, subject to funding.

You will be responsible for supporting the Senior Global Programmes Manager in the day-to-day running of our women’s global health project, "Resilience in: Obstetric Skills". This one year project, starting mid-February 2018, will deliver training in emergency obstetric care for multi-disciplinary health care professionals in two referral centres in rural southern Uganda in order to improve the quality and timeliness of obstetric care delivered to women and girls in the region. As the Project Support Officer, you will be responsible for organising flight bookings for volunteers and team members and liaising with them on all aspects of their logistical arrangements, ordering training equipment, adding to budget spreadsheets, coordinating partner meetings and liaising directly with the in-country team on any administrative or financial aspects.

As a successful candidate, you will be highly organised with great attention to detail and have the ability to use your initiative. You will be a confident communicator and a great problem solver; able to think on your feet in an often fast-paced environment. You will be able to take control of and lead on the administrative areas of the project quickly and efficiently. The successful candidate also needs to have some interest and/or understanding of women’s global health and some experience of being part of running a global health project previously would be an advantage.

The College is dedicated to raising standards of training and education in the medical specialty of obstetrics and gynaecology, delivered through the work of its members. Located in pleasant offices overlooking Regent’s Park, the College offers a friendly working environment with an excellent benefits package that includes flexible working hours, free lunches, subsidised gym membership, season ticket loan, first class pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.
