- One year fixed term contract
- £90,000 – £120,000 salary
- Excellent benefits
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and qualified Clinical Lead for the new Centre for Women’s Global Health principally to work on our current Leading Safe Choices Programme, with the retirement of the current post holder Professor Alison Fiander.
The RCOG is a world leader in women’s reproductive health, setting standards for the clinical practice of obstetrics and gynaecology in the UK and across the world. One of our strategic objectives is to advocate for women’s health in the UK and globally. Our aim is that the same high standards will apply, wherever the College is involved.
The RCOG has established a new Centre for Women’s Global Health to help fulfil the College’s aim to improve women’s healthcare on a global stage. Our work is focused on our core activities of education & training in women’s health care, and our work in clinical quality.
The main focus of the role will be on the Leading Safe Choices donor funded programme in South Africa and Tanzania where we are due to complete the final year of the pilots in 2018. The RCOG has developed a programme to strengthen the capacity of health care professionals in the provision of family planning and comprehensive abortion and post abortion care services. The post holder provides clinical leadership to the programme and is closely involved in the development and implementation of best practices in pursuance of the RCOG’s long term goal of improving women’s health in resource poor settings.
The position will be a fixed-term appointment initially of one year from appointment upon successful completion of a six month probationary period. The term may be renewed and continued based on the funding being made available by the donors. The fixed-term position will be based in central London and the RCOG is prepared to consider part time working for the right candidate.
The College is a membership organisation concerned with standards of training and education in the medical specialty of obstetrics and gynaecology. Located in pleasant offices overlooking Regent’s Park, the College offers an excellent and friendly working environment with a package that includes flexible working hours, free lunches, subsidised gym membership, season ticket loan, first class pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.
