- Conference Administrator, Meetings Directorate
- Permanent (35hrs per week)
- £21,272 – £25,594 salary
- Excellent benefits
An opportunity has arisen for a Conference Administrator within the Meetings Team at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).
The Meetings Team is responsible for the organisation of 70 conferences and events per year ranging from small one day meetings to 300 people attending a 5-day conference. All aspects of conference arrangement are covered by the department from inviting speakers and chairs to effectively publicising each event, registering delegates, organising an exhibition, gaining sponsorship, organising social events and on-site management of event logistics. Most events are held in our own education centre.
The post holder will assist the Conference Co-ordinator in all organisation and administration duties, including delegate registration, speaker liaison and exhibitor setup. You will use the College database extensively to create delegate lists, badges, delegate packs, feedback forms and speaker material for meetings.
You will need a flexible and adaptable approach, prioritisation skills, and a good attention to detail. Competence in the use of MS Word and Excel is essential and database experience useful. Excellent communication skills together with the ability to show initiative are essential. Because of the nature of the job, early starts and late finishes and occasional weekend work are sometimes necessary.
The College is a membership organisation concerned with standards of training and education in the medical specialty of obstetrics and gynaecology. Located in pleasant offices overlooking Regent’s Park, the College offers an excellent and friendly working environment with a package that includes flexible working hours, free lunches, subsidised gym membership, season ticket loan, first class pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.
