We are recruiting intrepid trekkers to take on the Atlas Mountain trek in 2020 to raise funds for the Centre for Women’s Global Health programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Cost of trip: £650 (excl. flights)
Join Team RCOG on the trip of a lifetime trekking the Atlas Mountains and summiting the highest peak in North Africa, Mount Toubkal (3700m).
Trek 7 days with a group of incredible people, make lifelong friends and raise vital funds for women’s global health programmes in low income settings.
Every day, according to the World Health Organization, approximately 830 women around the world die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth, with 99% of all maternal deaths occurring in developing countries. Additionally, more than 200 million women today in developing regions want to avoid pregnancy but are not using modern methods, and every year an estimated 25 million unsafe abortions take place globally.
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) is determined to change this.
We are focused on ensuring that all women’s sexual and reproductive health needs are met, no matter what their circumstance.
We do this through driving up standards, with the highest quality training and education.
We speak out on key issues, pulling on compelling evidence and decades of experience to raise awareness and, where needed, challenge the status quo.
But we know we cannot do this alone and are working hand in hand with our extensive network of partners – locally, nationally and internationally – and worldwide membership to drive further change to improve girls and women’s lives.
Sign up now, start training, start fundraising and do something amazing for women’s health.
