Congratulations to Team RCOG for a fantastic achievement at Prudential RideLondon-Surrey on 31 July 2016
Led by RCOG Officers Dr David Richmond and Professor Alan Cameron, the team brought together obstetricians, gynaecologists, RCOG staff, friends of the College, and a parent, Paul Connor, who cycled in honour of his daughter Florence who died during labour.
It was the largest team yet for RCOG, with 20 riders taking part in the 100 and 46-mile events
This year’s highlights were:
- Almost £15,000 raised to support Each Baby Counts, our national quality improvement programme to reduce the number of babies who die or are left severely disabled as a result of events occurring during labour
- The team was selected to feature by the RideLondon organisers and other local press
- 100-mile static bike challenge completed by Dr Ed Prosser-Snelling at the RCOG, joined by staff, friends and family taking turns to cycle a portion of the distance alongside him
- 218-mile static bike challenge completed by staff at Wye Valley NHS Trust, to promote Each Baby Counts.
