How much does it cost to enter the DRCOG?
The DRCOG exam fee is £441 for UK venues (£367.50 + VAT) and £367.50 for Ireland venues.
Does the DRCOG fee include the registration fee for Diplomate status?
Yes. The Diploma certificate will be issued to successful candidates in the DRCOG exam.
If I fail the DRCOG, will the registration fee be refunded?
How many times may I attempt the DRCOG?
You may attempt the DRCOG a maximum of 5 times.
Can I choose where I want to sit the DRCOG?
Yes, you can indicate a preferred centre. However, while the College will try to honour your preference, we reserve the right to allocate candidates to exam centres. You can’t request or change your centre preference after the closing date for the exam.
What kind of medical council registration do I need to enter the DRCOG exam?
At the time of application you must have full, limited or provisional registration with either the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) or the Medical Council of Ireland.
Do I need to have completed a specific period of training to sit the DRCOG exam or become a Diplomate?
No – there is no training requirement for the DRCOG exam or postnominals.
Can I postpone my exam?
The College regulations state that candidates who withdraw their applications for a particular exam after the closing date or who fail to appear shall forfeit the exam fee. In certain prescribed circumstances, we may consider refunding fees. If you wish to apply for this, please do so in writing (hard copy, not via email or fax) to the DRCOG Secretary in the week following the exam, enclosing documentary evidence to support your representation.
I’ve misplaced my issued certificate. Can it be replaced?
Yes, replacement/duplicate Diploma certificates are issued by the Membership Services team. For any enquiries about certificates, please email the Membership team or call +44 20 7772 6248.
