MRCOG Part 1 Exam January 2021 Update

The RCOG has been closely monitoring the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In reaction to the current global crisis we have moved quickly to bring forward the release of our new Exams IT System to transition to computer-based testing, hosting our first MRCOG Part 1 computer based exams on 28 September 2020.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, social distancing measures and government restrictions in place across individual countries, we were unable to accommodate all of our candidates affected by the postponement of our July 2020 exams. As a result, for the January 2021 exam we will be prioritising placements for candidates we had to defer from 2020.

Therefore, we will only be opening up the application window to new bookings in the following countries:

  • UK
  • Republic of Ireland
  • Hong Kong
  • Singapore
  • India
  • Bangladesh
  • Nigeria
  • Malaysia
  • United Arab Emirates

Candidates should only book into one of the above countries if they are currently residents in any of those listed. Due to the continued impact of the pandemic we will not be able to accept new applications from candidates based in any other country. Candidates will need to ensure that their ‘Main address’ details provided in their RCOG account are updated, and match the country they are booking into.

We appreciate this will be disappointing news for many candidates unable to book on this occasion. Candidates based in all other countries will have the opportunity to book on our next exam sitting scheduled for 5 July 2021 – details on future booking applications windows will be provided shortly.

Thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter. We have answered the questions you may have in the FAQs below. If you have any further queries, please contact exams@rcog.org.uk. Due to a high volume of queries at this time, and to ensure a timely response, we would strongly advise all candidates to check if one of the FAQs below is able to answer your question before sending in a query via email.
