I take great pleasure as your ENTOG representative in inviting you to take part in the ENTOG Exchange 2020!
The European Network of Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ENTOG) was formed in 1997 with the aim of achieving collaborative opportunities between trainees in Europe. The objective was to gain a better understanding of training in different European countries. The network also collaborates with European Board and College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (EBCOG). Their manifesto is to facilitate exchange of trainees and encourage them to improve the quality of their training. ENTOG currently has 33 member countries.
Every year, ENTOG organises an exchange in one of its member countries. Trainees from other countries are invited to take part in clinical attachments in hospitals throughout the host country, learning how O&G is practised and how training in O&G is achieved.
The next ENTOG exchange will take place in Norway. The national trainee association of Norway is the organizer of ENTOG Exchange 2020. The exchange will be held from 11th to 13th of May 2020. This will be followed by the ENTOG Scientific Meeting and Council in Bergen on the 14th of May 2020. The cities for the exchange will be Bergen, Voss, Haugesund, Førde, Stavanger, Oslo, Akershus, Drammen, Hønefoss, Bærum and Tønsberg. This is a fantastic opportunity for all trainees to observe and appreciate women’s health and O&G training in another European nation.
The RCOG is granting a travel award for two trainees, enabling them to take part in the exchange in Norway and participate in the Scientific Meeting alongside the Council meeting.
To be eligible, you must have:
- National Training Number (NTN), be at ST3 or above,
- Passed your Part 1 MRCOG
- Completed at least 2 years of training in O&G in the UK.
- An interest in international O&G and medical education.
If you are interested in applying for the 2020 Exchange, please use the attached application form and send this to Tania Chambers at the RCOG firstname.lastname@example.org, to arrive no later than by Thursday 2 January 2020 (9.00 am) with a view to registering for the exchange as soon as possible thereafter.
Please also attach a letter of motivation explaining why you think you should be selected to go onto the Exchange.
