National Lead for SAS Doctors
The RCOG has a National Lead for SAS Doctors. Laura Hipple FRCOG was recruited to the role in March 2018 and has taken up a new position on Council, as well as on the Workforce and Supporting Our Doctors Task Groups. Laura will also represent SAS and Trust doctors on the Professional Development Committee and the UK Membership Board, as well as at external groups including the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges’ SAS group, and a new SAS development and retention group being set up by Health Education England.
SAS Advisory Group
The National Lead for SAS Doctors chairs the SAS Advisory Group, which advises the RCOG on issues that affect SAS doctors.

Continuing professional development (CPD) is an important part of every doctor’s work and a vital part of appraisal and revalidation. SAS/Trust doctors should ensure they are participating in CPD and collecting relevant information.
