The advanced labour ward practice ATSM provides in-depth training in intrapartum care and should be undertaken if you expect the labour ward to form a significant part of your future consultant role. It is compulsory if you wish to undertake the labour ward lead ATSM.

Curriculum and course syllabus
This ATSM has a work intensity score of 1.0. If you undertake this ATSM and the labour ward lead ATSM concurrently, there is a combined work intensity score of 2.0.

Log of experience
The log of experience is designed to help you monitor your clinical experience and record your training. You don’t need to submit this log to the RCOG, but your School may want to see evidence of your experience. You can develop your own spreadsheet if you prefer.
Keep this log of experience in your Training ePortfolio. Record your training in as much detail as possible, for your own benefit as well as for your ATSM Preceptor and deanery.
