The benign gynaecological surgery: hysteroscopy ATSM course syllabus below lists the minimum requirements for a course to be suitable for the theoretical component of this module. The course should last 3 days.

Basic requirements

  • ATSM in hysteroscopy – an overview (20 minutes)
  • Equipment (20 minutes)
  • Distension media (20 minutes)

Electrosurgery

  • Electrosurgery (55 minutes)
  • Electrosurgery procedures – quiz and feedback (20 minutes)

Imaging and data

  • Imaging update (30 minutes)
  • Data collection and documentation (30 minutes)

Complications and avoidance

  • Complications of diagnostic hysteroscopy (30 minutes)
  • Complications of operative hysteroscopy (30 minutes)

Keynote

  • Imaging in the pelvis – what’s new? (40 minutes)

Keynote

  • Operative hysteroscopy – electrosurgical advances (30 minutes)

Operative hysteroscopy

  • Endometrial polyps (20 minutes)
  • Resection of fibroids (30 minutes)

  • The role of hysteroscopy in the management of menorrhagia – how nice is NICE? (30 minutes)

Reproductive surgery

  • Diagnosis and management of uterine abnormalities (45 minutes)
