ATSM: Paediatric and adolescent gynaecology

The paediatric and adolescent gynaecology ATSM will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to investigate and manage general gynaecological problems in children and adolescents, including training in the broader aspects of teenage sexual health that may affect gynaecological wellbeing, and the initial diagnosis and assessment of rare conditions.

Curriculum and course syllabus

The RCOG introduces an updated curriculum and logbook for the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology ATSM from 1 August 2016. Please ensure that you are using the correct version:

If you start the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology ATSM on 1 August 2016, you must use the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (August 2016) version

If you started the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology ATSM before 1 August 2016 you can switch to the new curriculum if you wish, but this is not mandatory. However, if you envisage that you will not complete the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology ATSM by 28 February 2017, you have to switch to the new curriculum.

This ATSM has a work intensity score of 1.0.

You have to be competent in the following:

Log of experience

The log of experience is designed to help you monitor your clinical experience and record your training. You don’t need to submit this log to the RCOG, but your School may want to see evidence of your experience. You can develop your own spreadsheet if you prefer.

Keep this log of experience in your Training ePortfolio. Record your training in as much detail as possible, for your own benefit as well as for your ATSM Preceptor and deanery.
