ATSM: Acute gynaecology and early pregnancy

The acute gynaecology and early pregnancy ATSM will prepare you to deal with problems arising from complications in early pregnancy and acute gynaecological conditions. This module is a requirement if you wish to specialise in this area of practice, but will also be useful in general O&G practice.

Curriculum and course syllabus

This ATSM has a work intensity score of 2.0.

You will be able to undertake the ASM in Safe Practice in Abortion Care as an optional module if you wish to do so.

  • On completion of this ASM, you will receive a certificate for the ASM which states the gestational age threshold to which the skills have been acquired.
  • As this ASM is an optional module, non-completion won't affect certification of the Acute Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy ATSM.

Log of experience

The log of experience is designed to help you monitor your clinical experience and record your training. You don’t need to submit this log to the RCOG, but your School may want to see evidence of your experience. You can develop your own spreadsheet if you prefer.

Keep this log of experience in your Training ePortfolio. Record your training in as much detail as possible, for your own benefit as well as for your ATSM Preceptor and deanery.
