This page sets out the OSATS requirements for the intermediate ultrasound of normal fetal anatomy module. You have to be competent in:
Normal fetal anatomy and biometry
- Counsel patient about procedure and limitations
- Appropriate probe selection and machine operation
- Confirm fetal heartbeat
- Measure BPD, HC, TCD, AC, FL transabdominally
- Demonstrate normal anatomy
- Identify placental site or position in relation to the cervical canal if appropriate
- Assess liquor volume
- Communicate results to patient
- Discuss appropriate referral to other specialities, if indicated
- Ensure images and video are recorded according to local protocol
- Complete a written structured report
