First-time candidates

To apply for the Part 1 MRCOG exam, first-time candidates need to:

  • Login to the RCOG website (if you have forgotten your login details please see below)
  • Complete and submit the online eligibibility assessment form
  • When we have received your form and certificate, we will assess your eligibility for the MRCOG Part 1 exam. If you are eligible, we will email you with instructions on how to book your place on the exam.

Deadline

The deadline for first-time postal eligibility applications is 4pm (UK time) 1 June 2017.

Candidates applying by post must submit their eligibilty application before the closing date; application envelopes post-marked after the closing date will not be accepted.

Online applications

You will be able to apply online, paying by credit or debit card using the form below once you have signed into the website. Please note this form is only visible once you have signed in.

If you have previously attempted the Part 1 MRCOG exam, you will already have a permanent six-digit College registration number. If you cannot remember this number, please contact exams@rcog.org.uk with your full name and date of birth and we will be happy to locate the number for you.

Postal application

If you are unable to make a payment online, please email exams@rcog.org.uk to request permission to make a full application by post.

All candidates

By continuing with the booking process, you agree to all the terms of the Part 1 MRCOG exam regulations and to the transfer of all copyright subsisting in exam material produced by you to the College. You confirm that you are not currently suspended or removed from medical practice by any authorising body or involved in any disciplinary proceedings related to medical practice in any country.

Candidates are advised to read the College’s new regulations regarding exam currency and attempts.

Name change

If your name has changed you need to provide an attested re-issued primary medical degree certificate or certificate of medical registration stating your new/married name, as well as a copy of your marriage certificate showing both your former and your new name. These documents must be sent to the exams department at exams@rcog.org.uk and received by the closing date.

Privacy statement

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the College will process personal data, by any means (including electronically), for the purpose of providing benefits and services and to carry out its day to day business. If you are registered or anticipate being registered with the GMC, then your personal data, including data about your examination results, will be passed to the GMC for quality assurance and for research purposes and to facilitate the awarding of certificates of completion of training (CCTs). The College may also confirm your qualifications and membership to bona fide third parties including governmental and medical regulatory bodies, educational institutions, and prospective employers, including those in countries where individual rights are not protected by data protection law. No further information will be released without your prior consent.

From time to time, with your permission, the College may release names and address details of its members to interested third parties for marketing and survey purposes. All organisations and persons are carefully vetted by the College before this information is released. Any such data comprising sensitive details (including data relating to age, health or ethnicity) will not be disclosed without prior consent from you.
