‘Prudent healthcare through innovation, technology and excellence’
On behalf of the local organising committee, we wish to invite you to Celtic Manor for the 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting. This event results from collaboration between teams from Bristol and Cardiff, and we chose Celtic Manor because of its excellent conference facilities, and location between both cities. Our theme is of providing prudent healthcare through innovation, technology and excellence. Prudent healthcare embodies co production, effective use of resources, doing only what is needed and reduction of inappropriate variation using evidence based practice. We are confident that as minimal access surgeons these principles must already be embedded in your practice. Minimal access surgery innovates continuously with new technology as it strives for excellence and has a fantastic track record of improving patient’s lives as a result. Our programme is designed to challenge as well as inform, and our invited speakers are able to do both. Novel presentation methods with the aim of increasing audience participation have been introduced into the programme.
