Newly Appointed Consultants Meeting

Start: 29/09/2017 00:00
End: 29/09/2017 00:00

Location: RCOG
Programme: Newly Appointed Consultants 2017.pdf

This day is designed to explore some of the areas that present challenges as a newly appointed consultant. We have planned an interactive day with experts to lead and facilitate sessions.
The day is organised to allow networking and sharing of experiences with your peers from around the country.

We aim to have an informal day where some of these non-clinical challenges can be explored. It is an opportunity to think about areas in your practice or organisation that you may want to change or improve and give ideas of how you can effect change.

Places on this course are strictly limited to 70

Learning objectives

  • Learn about the practicalities of CPD and explore requirements for consultant appraisal and revalidation
  • Explore how to develop a business case and how to develop a service
  • Understand the skills required and resources available to deal with challenging situations
  • Consider the responsibilities of the consultant as a clinical leader
  • Learn how to deal with complaints, difficult cases
  • Improve understanding of job planning and working for a large organisation
